Manual throttle modes in Plus Version
1 Monat 2 Wochen her
Hi,
So I've got virpil collective with throttle and have mapped throttle 1 to that and assigned throttle 2 to a rotary dial. They're both calibrated and I've marked the neutral position in with a marker on both controls.
However, when I move the throttle out of the neutral position, It'll say "Twist grip degrade", but it does not switch into manual mode, as it's supposed to. Only reaction I get is when I move the throttle all the way to idle and then it just shuts off the engine.
Now, if I use the Eng Manual switch on the overhead panel, it does switch into manual and the throttle works as intended, so my workaround was going to be to map that to a switch, but the Eng Manual do not appear to be mappable?
Do I need the pro version to access that?
Also, when I use the Eng Manual Switch, it closes to my Garmin 750 window?.
Only output in the log is this:
"[EC135] Manual engine control engaged for engine 0 at 0.317372"

It's exactly as you described. With AEO, you have to activate the switch on the overhead panel for the hange to manual mode. With OEI, however, simply turning the handle from the neutral position is sufficient.
This is the behavior found in the T versions of the EC 135. This differs from the P versions, where even with AEO, the manual control is automatically activated when the handle is turned.
There isn't actually a command for the manual switch yet. But I can add one with the next update. How would you like it to work? One for ON and one for OFF? Or a toggle command that changes the state each time it's triggered?

One more thing: If you want to prevent the engine from shutting down even though your throttle doesn't have a mechanical limit, you can test a new feature in the current beta.
Add the following line to the [THROTTLE] section of the file ec135v5.ini:
Of course, a manual shutdown is only possible via an explicit command. This command doesn't exist yet, but it's coming.

IgnoreShutdowPosition=1

I fly the T2+. Maybe there's differences in the version exported to North America?.
Regardless, if the Eng Manual switches can be mapped, it's very easy to practice it that way. This also makes it easier to practice tail rotor malfunctions.
I'm building an overhead panel, so ON/OFF would work, but I suspect most would prefer a toggle, so that even a push button can be used?

I believe anything is possible at Airbus.
We developed the feature jointly with a major German operator and have another European partner. It works there exactly as it does in our simulation.
