So, the Turn Slip indicator seems a bit off. With the ball in the centre the heli feels like it's drifting to the right. Pushing the pedals so the ball sits roughly on the left line, now feels like I'm pointing in the direction I'm traveling.
Espcially notice this a take off. If I push the pedals left to centre the ball, I almost end up travelling sudeways.
Feature or bug? Is there something about the 135 that makes the turn slip indicator behave this way in real life?
Cheers,
Mick

I noticed exactly the same issue and my personaI fix was to replace lines 11928-11932 in ./objects/new_panel/ec135_panel_1.obj with the following:
This is based on the 5.11 EMS version.
ANIM_rotate_begin 0.000000 0.139141 0.990273 sim/flightmodel/position/beta
ANIM_rotate_key -100.000000 15.000000
ANIM_rotate_key -25.000000 15.000000
ANIM_rotate_key 0.000000 0.000000
ANIM_rotate_key 25.000000 -15.000000

On the one hand, the slip indicator is actually installed at an angle of two degrees. On the other hand, the behavior of the ball in a helicopter must not be compared to that in a fixed-wing aircraft.
The reason is the aerodynamics of helicopters.Tail rotor always causes a lateral thrust and a roll moment. The strength of the effect depends on the speed. As a rule of thumb, below 80kt the ball should be ignored. Only a yaw string makes sense. The EC 135 is not equipped with this in reality either. That's why you have to look out the window to keep the direction correct.
In cruise flight, however, the ball should be centered. Even then the helicopter slips a bit. You also have to keep the aerodynamics in mind to understand this.
In principle, the pilot of a helicopter with a tail rotor has two options for compensating for sideways thrust: He counteracts this by tilting the main rotor in the opposite direction (to the left in our case). Or he slips. Ultimately, this is a question of flight comfort. In the EC 135, the designers have ensured that both options are combined with the way the instruments are installed (attitude indicator and slip indicator tilted by two degrees).
