Force Feedback Settings
1 Woche 2 Tage her
Firstly – thank you for many more happy hours flying your EC135.
Question – I have your plus version and a VPForce Rhino force feedback cyclic base. I have changed many settings in the ec135ini file in an endeavour to get the physical stick and simulator stick to work be in unison and operate like the real helicopter. I have limited success and rather than continue to change things almost at random, (and get totally confused in the process), I seek your advice. I have attached my ini file and as you can see have Settings: JoystickHasFtr = 3 (MOZA AB 9 FLIGHT BASE) in the assumption this might help. Is this the case?
In any event please would you look at my settings and advise any changes you would make.
Question – Is there any way to load the helicopter with a set fuel load rather than to have to go back into settings once the helicopter is loaded.
Question – In X Plane 11 I managed to remove the co-pilot’s seat but don’t seem to manage this in X Plane 12 and your latest version. Is it possible and if so how can I do it?
All my flying is in X Plane 12, in VR with a Pimax Crystal Super Headset, NVIDA GeForce RTX5090 GPU, 13th Gen Intel(R) i9 CPU, so I am not strapped for power.
I get immense pleasure from flying your helicopter re-living my history; thank you.
Regards, Ian

I can't comment on your specific hardware. But I can try to explain the requirements for successfully pairing force-feedback joysticks:
If these conditions are met, basic coupling should be possible when selecting the Moza Base option in the helicopter (as you did).
This concerns the interaction between the helicopter and the FFB stick at the force-neutral point. Everything beyond this is defined in our implementation in the Moza Base preferences file. For example, effects such as a subtle vibration of the stick in the ETL or in response to the rotor speed are contributed by the base's software. We have configured the strength of the effect in a profile. Similarly, the stick's force response when moved away from the force-neutral point is programmed in our profile for the base, not in the helicopter itself. Therefore, all these settings must be adjusted manually using a different FFB joystick.
Perhaps you could let us know if it worked?
- The force-neutral point is controlled exclusively via the X-Plane trim datarefs (set by our plugin). The joystick must follow these precisely and quickly.
- There must be no dependencies on the autopilot or servos.
- The values output by the joystick must not be combined with the trim values in any way. This calculation is done internally within the helicopter plugin.

In the file ec135v5.ini:
Code:
[FUEL]
FuelWeightAtReload=n

1 Woche 1 Tag herIt should work, but it doesn't. Looks like we have a bug in the menu.ianD schrieb: Question – In X Plane 11 I managed to remove the co-pilot’s seat but don’t seem to manage this in X Plane 12 and your latest version. Is it possible and if so how can I do it?
It works via the config.ini file of the respective livery.

Thank you for your prompt reply to all my questions. They all make sense and I will fiddle with settings.
However, with regard to the fuel at reload issue. I was aware how to set it up in the ini file but it does not appear to work as whatever fuel I put in here it makes no difference.
Kind regards

Works fine here.
Please make sure that it is the file ec135v5.ini (not config.ini) and that this file is located in the output/preferences folder of x-plane. If the problem persists, please upload the log.txt file from X-Plane.
One more point: Make the change to the file before loading the helicopter! The plugin updates it during unloading, and any manual changes made in the meantime will be lost.
